Hi this is Bill Vanderbush from GOD TV and welcome to God Today. I want to talk to you about spiritual ‘joyfare’. I would bet everybody has heard of spiritual warfare; I gotta say it’s one of my least favorite topics because I never want to do anything to try to preach a defeated devil back into business. The problem though is that even though he’s defeated doesn’t mean he’s completely disappeared and gone away with. See demons still exist even in the new covenant beyond the cross. They provide us with an alternative choice. Now I think that choice is really important because love can only exist in the context of being chosen. So as lousy as the choice is, there is still demonic forces to contend with.
As a lot of people have encountered that have gone to school in ministry and bible school and they come out and they’ve heard that the devil is defeated. They know how to heal the sick and they know how to give prophetic words over people, but for some reason they have come to this belief that the devil is this non issue. You need to understand that actually demons still do exist.
You have three voices that you contend with, you have the voice of God, which I hope you all recognize. You have your own voice which God actually really likes because he likes communicating with us. But then you have the voice of the demonic. And if you choose to ignore the context of the demonic influences then you open yourself up to the possibility of only thinking that there are only two voices, you and God. And there is a lot disillusionment in the world today. There is a lot of disillusionment amongst groups of people, especially within our country, who find themselves questioning whether they believe in God anymore. do they believe in the holy spirit anymore? Do they believe in Heaven or Hell? They don’t know what to believe anymore. Where are we getting these ideas? I’d like to suggest to you that it’s more than just philosophical concepts that we’re wresting with.
I think we’ve entertained a lot of demonic influence in this country that has cause a lot of confusion. And we know that God is not the author of confusion. He’s not given us the spirit of fear but of power of love and of sound mind.
So anytime you encounter a word from God you know you’re going to get power, you’re going to get love, you’re going to get a sound mind that comes from it. It’s going to bring you to a place of clarity.
And so that would be my word for you today. That you would recognize demonic influence, and you have a two-fold responsibility when it comes to demonic influence: Resist the devil and cast him out. Those two things you have fully been equipped to do.
And so if you come into a place today of just frustrating confusion, a lack of clarity on what you believe, questioning whether or not God love you. Listen, that thought’s not from God, it may not even be from you. Resist it, cast it out, and rest in the love of your Father.
And so I pray today God that you would empower every person watching this today, with a fresh discernment and revelation to know whose voice is speaking, so that they would be able to accept the vice of their Father Lord, and resist the voice of an enemy.
