You see for God still loved the world that he gave his only son

Hello God TV, family and friends and supporters. It’s awesome to be with you today. My name is Reggie Dabbs and I just have a couple of minutes for you. When I was eight years old my mom and dad came to school for a parent teacher conference. Little did I know, that something would happen that would change life forever. Have you ever had something happen that you wish you could change or that you wish had never happened? It happens in all of your lives.

At eight years old after leaving the parent-teacher conference, I found out that my mom and dad weren’t my mom and dad. You see all my friends parents they were young, but my parents were just a little older, and I remember asking them on the way home that night “why are you so old”. It was that night at the kitchen table that they told me that I was in foster care and that they were not my mom nor my dad but that they loved me.

From eight years old to twenty-one I did not want to live. I figured if my own mom didn’t want me who would want me, who would care about me.

Have you ever had something happen in your past that make you think “I’m done, I can’t do this anymore”?

If that’s you then you probably haven’t switched channels yet and you’re trying to figure out how I made it.

You see, from 8 to 21 wanting to die something did happen, of course I’m not 21, I’m 53 – but I look good because ‘black don’t crack – word’ I’m just saying. But here it is:

At 12 years old at 3 o’clock in the morning, I cried in my bed because I knew something was wrong deep inside me. My foster dad, who was only a school janitor walked in, put his arms on my chest and said “I cannot give you my blood, you’re not my son, but if you’ll let me I’ll give you my heart until the day I die.”

You see for God still loved the world that he gave his only son, and so whoever still believes in him would not perish but have everlasting life. And that’s what happened to me in real life. A school janitor, not educated but loved, gave me his heart until the day he died.

If you’re searching today and you’re looking for hope, Jesus is the key. If he can help a little boy like me become a big man like me, he can help you, right here, right now.

So now all you have to do is pray with me. Jesus I need your help, I cannot handle what I am going though, so help me please. Change my situation, and even if you don’t, I give you my life. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for me and rising on the 3rd day so I can know there is a way for me because of you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
