Man doesn’t live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Hi, this is Bill Vanderbush with GOD TV, welcome to God Today. I am going to talk to you a little bit about identity, and to do that we have to talk about your origin. To do that we have to go all the way back to Genesis.

In Genesis 1 God creates by actually creating an environment. He creates these environments, these dead environments, but then He speaks substance to the environments He has created to produce life. Now that sounds complicated but it’s really not. When He wants to make fish He talks to the water. He says, “Let the sea bring forth” and everything that is meant to live, exist and thrive in that environment comes forth, lives, moves, has its being, drawing life in that environment.

When He wants to make plants and animals, He says this phrase, “Let the earth bring forth.” And everything that is meant to exist in that environment comes forth and draws its life from that environment. Now He steps out of that routine when He goes to make man. Because He says, “Let us make man in Our image and after Our likeness. This is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit having an internal dialogue, ’cause you are not made in the image and likeness of an angel, you are made in the likeness of God. So, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit say, “Let us make man in Our image and after Our likeness. So here’s the question, what was the environment that God spoke to when He made you? The environment He spoke to was the environment of Himself.

Paul says it like this, “In Him, we live and move and have our beings.” So what does that tell you about the environment you and I are meant to draw life from in our spirit? We get our life from the Spirit of God alone. Man doesn’t live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. So that is my prayer for you today, that you would understand your origins, that you understand where you come from.

Father, I pray today that you would just draw us back to that place of being birthed and born out of Your Heart, out of Your desire, out of Your love, out of Your will. Father, I pray today that every person would plug in and be anchored into our union with you, from where we draw our life and our sustenance in our spirit, in Jesus Name, Amen.
