Hi, this is Josh Baldwin with Bethel Music and welcome to God Today. So how do we prevent the cares of this world from stealing our faith and stealing our joy? I think one thing that’s very practical, but important, and I know in my life I’ve seen it really affect my life and shape the way I look at the world and the way I keep my eyes on the Lord, and it’s fasting social media. I love social media, I go to it a lot, but when I’m feeling those times, when I’m feeling the worries, just worry in general coming into my life and pulling me away from the Word, from the Lord, it’s so important to just fast that, to just turn it off, turn social media off.
There are so many times when it can be important to see what the cares are, what people are going through, but I think it’s so important to not let those things control your emotions and control your faith and hope. It’s so important to stay in
There are so many times when it can be important to see what the cares are, what people are going through, but I think it’s so important to not let those things control your emotions and control your faith and hope. It’s so important to stay in community, to not be off alone all the time. You and the Lord is great but community surrounding you is so important, so key and vital. Stay in community, stay in church and stay in your Word. Turn off your phone and let’s just get back to the Word and reading the Bible. It’s very practical, very simple I know, but I’ve seen it work in my life, how it changes the way I think and changes the way I think about the Lord and the way I see myself in Him and just makes be a better husband and better dad.
So I just pray right now, that Lord, You would touch those who are struggling with worry, who are struggling with the weight of the world, feeling like it’s on them. That You would help us to find that passion, find that alone time with You. Light that fire back in us and ground us again, in Jesus Name. Amen.
