Don't sit back on the harvest. It's time to labor!

Hey, everyone. This is evangelist Chris Mikkelson. I want to welcome you to God TV’s daily devotionals. This morning I’m doing my second segment on winning the lost. Jesus said these famous words in Matthew chapter 9. He said, “The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into the harvest field.”

I grew up actually on a dairy farm in central Minnesota where we used to have a lot of harvest fields. We would harvest corn, wheat, barley, oats, all kinds of different crops that we would harvest and when it was harvest time, we had a window of opportunity to bring in that harvest and one of the most important things if we’re going to see a great harvest come in, if we’re going to see our friends come to Jesus is we’ve got to labor in the harvest. That means that it’s going to take some work and it’s going to take a little bit of effort and I want to encourage you not to just sit back and hope and pray that your friends and loved ones will come to Jesus but to actually get out and be active, an active labor in the harvest.

Go out and share the love of Jesus with them, go out and buy them a cup of coffee and sit down and open up the Bible and tell them about Jesus, just go and ask them simple questions like hey, what do you know about Jesus and begin to share your heart and watch what God will do just by going out of your way and asking them and beginning a conversation with them about Jesus. My friends, I want to encourage you today, don’t sit back on the harvest. It’s time to labor, it’s time to get out there and reach the lost and that means getting out of our comfort zone, getting out of our houses and going out and sharing the love of Jesus with everyone.

Let me pray for you. Father, I just thank you for each and every person. God, I pray that you would help them to go out and share the love of Jesus everywhere they go. God, give them boldness to reap the harvest. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
