The real reason for the season is -  not receiving gifts from people, but it’s receiving the gift of Jesus.

Hello, God Today.  This is evangelist Chris Mikkelson. I am so excited because this is the season of Christmas.  It’s one of my favorite seasons in the entire year, where we get to celebrate the birth, the life, the death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  And often times when we think of Christmas, the first thing we think of is all the gifts that we need to buy.  Maybe you’re one of the people that thinks of all the gifts you are going to receive.  We love this time of year, we love giving, and getting these wonderful gifts.  The Bible tells us what the real reason for the season is –  not receiving gifts from people, but it’s receiving the gift of Jesus. The Bible tells us in John 3:16, “that God so loved the world that He gave, that He sent His only begotten son, that whosoever would believe upon Him would not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I want to encourage you this season, this Christmas holiday season, that you would remember that it’s all about Jesus.  My prayer for you, this Christmas season, is that you would give the gift of Jesus to somebody this year.  Maybe a family member, maybe a friend, maybe a relative, maybe somebody at the airport as you are traveling to go see your family.  But, I pray you would share the message of the gospel, and share the love of Jesus.

Maybe you are watching today and you’ve never received this gift.  That Jesus gave to us, the greatest gift the world has ever received – being God himself, Jesus Christ.  I want to give you that opportunity, to also receive this gift.  Would you pray with me?  The Bible says, “that whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  If you’re that person and you’ve never received Christ into your heart, you’ve never received the gift of salvation, pray this prayer with me today.  Just say, “Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you today.  A sinner in need of salvation.  Lord, Jesus save me.  Forgive me of my sins, cleanse me of all unrighteousness, fill me with your Holy Spirit and Lord, from this day forward, I determine to follow you for the rest of my life.  In Jesus’ name.”

If you prayed that prayer, please get in contact with us and let us know that Jesus became the gift that you received this year during the Christmas holiday season.  God bless you.
