Hi, my name is Chris Overstreet with Bethel Church and Compassion Action and you’re watching God Today. I want to talk to you about just believing in Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Mark 16, “These signs will follow those who believe.” Notice God wants to use the believers to do incredible things for Him. I remember being at this church and we were in worship and we are worshipping Jesus and the Lord begins to speak to me about leaving the church to go to an apartment complex. Now, I was in Georgia, so I didn’t know about this apartment complex too well, but it was behind the church.
God began to speak to me. He said, “Chris, I want you to leave and I want you to pray for someone at a certain door.” So I asked one of the pastors there. I said, “Would you excuse me, I actually have to leave to go talk to someone at this apartment door.” She was a former school of ministry student of ours and I explained to her, “I need to leave. I need to obey God. I need to believe He is speaking to me and I need to obey His voice.”
Worshipping was happening and I was getting ready to speak – I’m up next. So I leave the church and we are walking around this neighborhood looking for a particular door. Finally, we discovered a door that was highlighted to me. Went up to that door, knocked on the door, lady came to the door. An elderly lady and I explained to her how I was at worship at this church and how God spoke to me to leave and I came and knocked on the door. I said, “Is there any pain on your body?” And she said, “Actually, I have excruciating pain in my abdomen. I just had a surgery and I’m in excruciating pain. I was just praying recently, ‘Go take away the pain’.” And I said, “Well, God spoke to me while I was in worship. I need to lay my hands upon you right now and command all the pain to leave.” We prayed for her. The power of God came on her and she was instantly healed.
My friends, God wants to speak to you. I want to encourage you just to do this: only believe. Believe that you are a believer. Believe that you hear His voice. Believe that God wants to use you right now. God wants to use you today. Not tomorrow, but today. You will hear His voice and you will respond to His voice.
I want to pray for you. Father, I thank you for the sensitivity of the Holy Spirit. That they will hear your voice, they will respond in joy, they will respond in faith, they will believe, and they will see incredible things happening in their life today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
