We have the gospel of Jesus Christ. The question is: will you release that word to somebody else?

Hi, this is Kyle Lance Martin with Time To Revive and welcome to God Today. You know, part of my role as an evangelist – it says in Ephesians 4 – to equip the saints [that would be you, that would be us, that would be me] so that we can do the work of the ministry so that we can deliver the gospel wherever we’re at.  It’s a lifestyle.

One morning because I fly a lot, I travel a lot, I was at Dallas Love Field.  And I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to go into a retail store and buy two packs of gum.  I very specifically heard that.  And as I did I looked at the young lady named Erica.  I said, “Hey, is there anything I could  be praying for you about?”  And instantly – praise the Lord no customers around – she said, “Yes, pray – I got into a car accident two weeks ago.  I’m okay, but the whole car insurance…”  You could tell she was just distraught and just right then and there I asked for permission if I could put my hand on her shoulder and I prayed.  There was just a spirit of peace as a result afterward.

I pulled out this little wristband, I know it sounds simple, but it has five Bible verses.  And when I pulled this out I said, “Do you have a couple minutes?  That I could walk you through the scriptures of these five verses?”  Over the course of time we went through four verses.  In fact, I got to the fourth one, Ephesians 2:8-9, and scripture just says, “You are saved by grace through faith, this is not from yourselves, it is God’s gift.  Not from works so that no one can boast.”  And right away there was a countenance change.  But, at that time more and more customers came and I was like, “Oh no.”  And I said I’ll be right back.  I wanted to be sensitive of her work environment.

I left and prayed and I came back in and I prayed all customers would clear.  They did.  Right away I went to the fifth verse and I said, “Are you longing to confess to Jesus and have him be in charge of your life?”  And she said, “I am.  I want this free gift that you talked about.  I want Christ to take over my life.”  So right then and there, buying two packs of gum, she said “yes” to Jesus.  I’m telling you guys it’s real.  People are longing for hope, they’re longing for truth.  You and I can be the answer.  We have the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The question is: will you release that word to somebody else?

Erica texted me later that day and she said, “I’m so excited I have this new journey of faith.”  We’re going to have somebody follow up with her – why?  Because we are supposed to make disciples in this process.  Heavenly Father, I pray for the “Ericas” out there that are ready to receive the gospel, but we need to deliver the truth.  So give us the spirit of boldness and courage to deliver the gospel because people are ready to say “yes”.  In your name, we pray, Amen.
