Hello, I’m Ward Simpson, President and CEO of GOD TV, and welcome to God Today. I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being a subscriber to God Today. It is because of your gifts and your partnership that we are able to take this gospel, hand in hand together, to the four corners of the Earth. I want to tell you a story about a man who was leaving the continent of Africa in a small plane, controlled in his cabin, by oxygen in the olden days. And all of a sudden, to his horror, there was a snake, a poisonous venomous snake, right there next to him. And as he was in the air, airborne, he recognized this snake about to pounce. He radioed for help, “What should I do?” And the control tower told him to go higher. He was unclear of that directive and he said, “To do What?” And the tower said, “Go higher!” So, he began to climb, and climb, and climb until he got to an altitude where that snake could not survive. The moral of the story, dear friends, is we have to go higher. The Bible says, “Where does our help come from?” It comes from above. We have to go higher. “From the ends of the earth will I cry out to thee, ‘Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,’” the psalmist said.
I want to encourage you today, dear friends, whatever that snake is in your life, whatever the enemy is using to attack you, whatever chains, whatever yoke, whatever thing that Satan has connected himself to you today, go higher in Jesus’ name. Don’t look around, don’t look down, don’t look behind, but look up! And go higher in Jesus’ name! When trouble comes your way, go higher. When doubt comes your way, go higher, when fear comes your way, go higher. When the doctor gives you bad report go higher. We used to sing this song at church in my old days as a kid. “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you, oh Lord, are my strong tower, my refuge, my present help in time of need”.
Let me pray for you today. Father, for everyone today who is going through trouble, whatever the enemy has brought their way, I pray right now, Lord, you would give them the grace, and the peace, and the comfort that you’re with them. We thank you, Lord, that your word says that you will never leave us nor forsake us. You’re always with us.
