Hi, this is Jessica Koulianos, welcome to God Today. I want to talk to you about not giving up. Some of you have situations in life that are just not working out the way you thought. You thought something great was going to happen, you had things you were believing God for, saving up for. It just didn’t happen the way you thought it was going to happen. I want to tell you, don’t worry about that. God has it all under control. He sees the things we can’t see. We have to trust that if a door closes, if something falls through, God has something bigger and better – you just have to trust in the process.
I’m going to share a story with you about my own life, that comes to mind. When we first started these events, Jesus 17 is what we’re calling them now, but they started as Jesus Conferences. We were at a venue and we had it for year number two, we have it all planned out and had everything ready to go. The venue called us last minute and said, “I’m sorry, we cannot have you this year at our venue. We were so discouraged. We thought, “Oh my gosh, this is never going to happen. What are we going to do? What are we going to do now? Oh my gosh, we already planned for this, we budgeted for this. We saved for this event at this venue and now the door is closing.” Little did we know that God was closing that door because He had something bigger and better for us.
It made us go into a new venue that was a lot bigger, it was more money too, but guess what? God provided all of that. And now these events have grown. We started at 700 people and now we are at 4,000 this year. That’s amazing! That’s because God closed a door, that when we saw it close we were so discouraged we wanted to give up, but God knew that He had something bigger and better in store for us.
That’s what I’m telling you today. God has something bigger and better for you. Don’t give up, don’t quit. No matter what your circumstances look like. Don’t be disappointed. Just trust that God has something in store so great your mind can’t even fathom how great it is. Do not quit. Don’t give up. God has something great for you.
