Hi friend, welcome to this edition of God Today. I am Lydia Marrow and I serve at Shake The Nations Ministries. Let’s look at the word of God. The psalmist David, said in Psalm 119:88, He said, “Revive me according to your loving kindness, so that I may keep the testimony of your mouth.” You know, a lot of times the word revival is overused and not really understood. A lot of times we hope that we are going to have a good service, that people are going to get touched, that we feel Holy Ghost chill-bumps. Friend, all of those things are wonderful, but that’s not really what we mean when we say, “Revival.”
When we talk about revival I am talking about everything in your life coming back alive, back into alignment with the Spirit of God once again. You know, the psalmist David, understood that in the course of your average, ordinary, normal life, there were going to come times when your passion for God does not feel quite as on fire, that you might be distracted by the world around you, that you might be going through hard times, that there was going to be times that you needed to see God revive your spirit once again. That’s why he said, “God, revive me!”
Someone asked me recently if asking for revival was even a biblical thing. If you want some proof, I just read it to you. “Revive me according to your loving kindness.” Friend, God is so good. He stands ready to set you on fire once again. Maybe you’re a pastor. Maybe you’ve been burned ot in the ministry and you are just absolutely exhausted. Maybe you are an evangelist and you are just disillusioned and disenchanted with where you are in life and in ministry. I want to pray for you right now that God would set your life on fire once again.
Pray with me right now. Father, in the name of Jesus, by your Spirit, I ask that you would touch every life watching right now. For every person who is calling out to you right now and saying, “Set me on fire once again!” Father, do it. Grant it according to your loving kindness, even as David prayed. Lord, for every pastor, every evangelists, every apostle, prophet, teacher. I am asking you Lord, set the revival ministry on fire once again, according to your loving kindness. God, for every person that is discouraged in their work environment, set them on fire once again. Father, we know that there is nothing wrong with any of us, that a touch of your Spirit will not fix. So, I ask you to do right now what only you can do in each and every heart and life in the powerful name of Jesus. We give you all the glory for it right now. Friend, we love you. We pray for you everyday. We pray that God will touch your life. Can’t wait to talk to you again next time. God bless.
