It is about the immediate response to my action.  As soon as I go to Him I can turn it all around.

Hi, my name is Lee Thompson and welcome to GOD TV. There are days when I walk as a Christian and I think, “I’ve got this.”  I’ve studied, I’ve prayed, and I am just going to walk out and be perfect.  I step out into the world and the challenges, the stress, the strife, the constant bombardment of social media and disputes.  I can get lost. I forget where I am at and who I am. I am weak. I am weak without Jesus. I am weak without Him. When I try to do it on my own I find myself in a very bad place.  My days can be long, and hard, and I can take it out on people.

I have to be quick.  I have learned to turn to God immediately when I feel myself slipping like that, finding myself in that place of the secret spot.  Whether it be at my desk, or a place in a store where nobody is around, asking God for repentance. I think repentance is so important and it is easy to forget.  “I am going to get it tonight when I pray,” or “I will get it tomorrow when I talk to God in the morning.” For me, the longer I let it go, the worse I become. It is about the immediate response to my action.  As soon as I go to Him I can turn it all around.

I just wanted to give you a prayer today.  Lord, help us to remember that we are nothing without you.  It is only in your strength that we can walk this out. It is your desire for us to walk as your son did.  We have to come to you in repentance, in an open heart, in an open mind, to see, and to feel, and love the way Jesus loves us.  Amen.
