Shalom, my name is Pastor Avi Mizrachi from Tel Aviv, Israel. I lead a Jewish Messianic Congregation in Tel Aviv. We want to welcome you to God Today. Today we would like to go over the scripture from Psalm 122:6. “שַׁ֭אֲלוּ שְׁל֣וֹם יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם”. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” What does it mean? A few things. If you look at the Hebrew, the word “shaloo” which is translated to “pray”, is also the verb for “ask/inquire”. God is encouraging us to inquire about the peace of Jerusalem. People think, “Oh! To have political peace, that’s what it means.” It means much more than that.
I believe that, first of all, for men to have peace, is to first have peace with God. When you have peace with God, when you have repented and accepted the Prince of Peace in your heart, then you can have peace with all man. That is exactly what it’s all about. God wants us to inquire, to find out what is happening in Israel, what is happening in Jerusalem. So that we can specifically focus, pray that the Prince of Peace would rule in people’s hearts. Starting with the Jewish people and the Arab people. In other words, there will never be peace without the Prince of Peace, Yeshua, Jesus, our Messiah. God is encouraging us to find out, to investigate, find out what God is doing, what is the Kingdom of God doing today in Israel.
It is through you praying, as Christians, you praying that Arab and Jewish people will come to know the Prince of Peace in their hearts. God is honoring those prayers because we have seen more and more Arab people, more and more Jewish people coming to the Lord like we have never seen before. The body of Messiah, the body of Christ in Israel is growing because Christians are focusing their prayers specifically to pray for the Prince of Peace, Yeshua, Jesus to rule in people’s hearts by finding out what is happening and praying specifically and we see results.
