whatsoever you ask, if you will believe you have received it, you will discover He will give it to you.

I’m Dr. Mark Chironna and welcome to God Today. Beloved, in Mark’s gospel chapter 11, we have that powerful story of Jesus talking about mountain moving faith, in Mark 11:23. He sums it up in Mark 11:24 by saying, “Whatsoever you desire or ask for when you pray, believe you have received it and you will have it.” Now, what you want to understand is the, “whatsoever you ask for”, or the “whatsoever you desire”, has no conditions out on it. Sadly, over the generations, people try to put conditions on some of the things that Jesus said. When Jesus didn’t have any conditions on it. He said, “Whatsoever you desire.” Granted, He is not talking about desiring things that are unclean, desiring things that are unholy, desiring things that would make you unfaithful to God. He is asking you to ask the Father for those things that are within His good, good creation, that are part of His intention for you to live a life of fullness, of abundance, of well-being, of joy, of satisfaction.

God is a good God. What God wants you to do it not censor your prayers. God wants you to be transparent and own and admit what you really, truly want. I have discovered something in over four decades of the people helping business as a servant of Christ. The hardest question that people can answer is the question, “What do you really want?” I have asked this of saints all over the world and the answer will be, “I just want what God wants.” That sounds really good, but it’s kind of a religious answer because it doesn’t get specific enough. Imagine if Elisha said to Elijah, “Well, I just want what God wants.” Elijah said to him, “What do you want me to do for you before I am left?” He said, “Well, I just want what God wants?” No, no, no. He said, “I want a double portion of your spirit.” He was very specific.

Jesus is letting us know in Mark 11 that there are obstacles that get in the way of our visions and of our progress. We need to dare to believe that if we ask for whatsoever we desire, that is certainly within His will and within His good, good order, that if we ask for them in faith, and we believe that we have received them because He is a good God and won’t lie, then we will have them. What do you really, really, really want? I asked you 5 times – really – what do you really, really, really, really, really want. Don’t censor it, don’t hide from it, don’t run away from it. Even if you don’t think it is possible, own it, and bring it to speech. Let God show you who He is even though you don’t think you may deserve it or that it is time, or past time. Because whatsoever you ask, if you will believe you have received it, you will discover He will give it to you. Father, seal this word to your precious sons and daughters for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
