Hello, this is Rich Marshall with God Today. So glad you could join us on God Today.
Today I want to talk to you about being filled with the Spirit. That is a phrase a lot of people use and may not know fully what it means. When I first began to study being filled with the Spirit I found out the first reference to being filled with the Spirit is way back in the book of Exodus in chapter 31. It said the Lord spoke to Moses. He began to speak to Moses about one of his workers, a man named Bezalel. The Lord said, “I have called by name Bezalel.” Then it says, “I have filled him with the Spirit of God.” Then it goes on and says, “I have filled him with wisdom, and understanding, and knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.”
Do you realize the first reference of being filled with the Spirit did not have to do with most of the things we use it for today? It had to do with your work. When you go to work, when you go to your job, when you go to the place God has allowed you to earn your living, He wants you to fill you with His Spirit to enable you to do that job as unto the Lord. That’s His promise. Today, be filled with the Spirit for your work. Understand that as you go into your workplace, God is there with you. In fact, I have begun to use this phrase: your work is your ministry, your business is your ministry. Because that is where God wants to use you and He will use you there effectively if you allow His Spirit to come in and touch you and fill your life.
Be filled with the Spirit of God in wisdom, understanding, and knowledge, and in all manner of work. It doesn’t matter what your work is. He knows it all, He will fill you for it. I want to pray for you right now. Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you for your Holy Spirit who comes to us, who enables us to walk in your pathway. Father, I pray today for the filling of your Spirit even for our work. It may be early in the morning as you are watching this before you go to work, may God go with you. May He give you answers you wouldn’t have without Him, may He give you peace in your surroundings, may you understand and know, “I am filled with the Spirit of God.” God bless you. This is God Today.
