You know, God wants us to excel in everything we do. God is excellent. As a matter of fact, there are many Scriptures that talk about God is excellence, He does everything with excellence. You can just look at creation and see that, it is written everywhere. I mean, the detail God went to. For us to be godly, we need to operate in excellence. Whether you realize it or not, this is the key to promotion.
Let me share this verse with you out of Daniel 6:3. It says, “Then, this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes because an Excellent Spirit was in Him. The king thought to set him over the whole realm.” The reason the king was going to promote Daniel was because he had this Spirit of Excellence. There are many of us praying for promotions, for benefits, for all of these things to come to pass. God does not promote inefficiency, promote bad attitudes, promote laziness. He promotes excellence. He loves us regardless of what our situation is. The grace of God is towards all of us. But, if you want to see promotion, you need to really develop this Spirit of Excellence.
I have 100s of employees who work for me. I love all of them, I go around and I say “hi” to everybody. But, when it comes time to promote a person, I am not going to promote a person who has a bad work ethic, or a bad attitude, or a person who is always griping and complaining. I am going to promote someone that has excellence. You promote excellence, you do not reward those things. God loves us, but if you really want to see the promotion of God come into your life, you need to develop this attitude of excellence.
It talks about it right here in the 6th chapter. This is the reason Daniel was going to get promoted because He had an Excellent Spirit. Well, that’s one thing to see that excellence is what gets promoted, but what constitutes excellence? What is it that makes a person with an Excellent Spirit? That’s what this teaching is all about, and let me tell you, it would really be a blessing to you. I know you would love to see God promote you, you would love to see things work out better than they are, but we have a part to play. That part is to just have this Excellent Spirit. God wants you to have this Excellent Spirit. The truth is, He has given you an Excellent Spirit. You need to renew your mind and cooperate. Start operating in this and I tell you, God wants you to succeed.
