Hello, my friends. I am Pastor Troy Brewer from Open Door Church in big town Burleson, Texas. I want to welcome you to my ranch here in Glen Rose, Texas, Third Stage Ranch. Happy 2019 on the Gregorian calendar, in the year 5779 on the Hebrew calendar. This is God Today.
As people we are supposed to reflect the face of God and love what is good because God does that. We are to do good. We are to celebrate anything that is selfless, anything that is wonderful, anything that is kind or uplifting, or life giving. So do you have a high value for the betterment of other people? Do you have the Kingdom perspective of selfless giving? If you don’t, you should. It’ll bring Heaven to Earth.
This is the way the Bible puts it. It says, “Let love be without hypocrisy, abhor what is evil, cling to what is good, be kindly affectionate one to another in brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another, not lagging in diligence, fervent in the Spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continually, steadfastly in prayer, distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.” This is Romans 12.
If you live as a redeemed resident of Heaven, upon this Earth, in the midst of this ungodly generation, you will learn to love what God loves and to hate what God hates. God really loves goodness. He really loves seeing His kids go out of their way to be kind, to be generous, and to reach out to those who are actually in very terrible need. However, Father God goes plum crazy whenever He gets the glory for your goodness. To Him it is like hearing somebody say, “She’s got her Daddy’s eyes,” “He is generous just like His Daddy.” It makes Him so proud whenever you point to Him and let people know you’re goodness this runs in the spiritual family.
The Bible says, “Let your light so shine before men so they might see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.” That’s Matthew 5:16. When was the last time you pointed to Him? If it has been awhile, find a reason today and everyday in the year 2019 to practice goodness and brag on your Daddy in Heaven. Today is a good day to bring Heaven to Earth by doing something amazing. Help. Serve. Pray. Lift up. Give. Why? Because it is all a part of your family inheritance. Spend it well, my friends. I want to pray for all of the viewers.
Father, I lift us up this year, Lord God. I pray, God, in the year 2019, God, we will do good and point to you as the One who is good. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Friends, I am Pastor Troy Brewer.
