...The finger of God that wrote them on tablets of stone has now written them in our hearts.

Hi, I’m Pastor Craig Walker.  I am a Christian author and the lead pastor of Upward Church.  I pray you are blessed today and I pray the joy of the Lord is your strength and you prosper in all that you do.  I want to go to the Word of God with you today. Let’s find strength for the day. We need a Word form Heaven everyday.

I want to read a scripture that can be kind of stiff, but we need to hear all the counsel of God.  First John 2:4-6 says, “If someone claims. ‘I know God,’ but does not obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and not living in the truth.  But, those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love Him. That is how we know we are living in Him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.”  Do you live His commandments? This scripture says it really is the litmus test. Am I a follower of Jesus? The Bible says to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith.

Those commandments that once were written on tablets of stone, now God has taken those commandments and the finger of God that wrote them on tablets of stone has now written them in our hearts.  They take us so far beyond that first tablets of stone with those commandments, they deal with our motives and our attitudes. The Holy Spirit comes and He wants us to fulfill the commandments of God.  Now we are able to because the Holy Spirit enables us to live a life that pleases the Lord.

So today, can we go to the cross again?  Can we ask the Father that He would take our lives – all of it – can we go and surrender to Him?  Say, “Lord, let me live my life as Jesus lived. Let people see Jesus in me. I want to be Christian, Christ-like today.”  Only by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit can we do that.

Let’s pray.  Father, I pray for everyone hearing my voice this day, God.  We are here before your throne. We are saying, “Lord, live, shine, breathe through us today.”  Help us to be all that you want us to be. May people see Jesus in us in all that transpires today.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. I am Pastor Craig Walker and that is God Today.
