Hi, I’m pastor Randy Needham of Dwelling Place Church in Houston, Texas. Welcome to God Today. I want to talk to you about asking God for anything. You know, Jesus said in John chapter 15, “If my words abide in you and you abide in me, you can ask for anything and it will be done for you.” What an amazing promise for God and how that makes us supernatural people. I just want to really encourage you that you can ask God for the unlimited, everything He promised you in His word. But, He said it’s very important that you abide. “If you abide in me.”
It comes out of fellowship. It comes out of daily walking with God. It’s not just church once a week. It’s walking with God all the time, 24/7. Let your thoughts be on Him and He’ll put in your heart. He says, “if you abide in me.” That’s really important because when you abide in Him He starts putting things in your heart and He starts saying, “Ask me. Ask me. Believe me.” He will cause you to have promises in your heart.
So, a prerequisite is a promise, it’s abiding. It’s like a seed in your heart, and what it does, you can ask Him for anything. You know, one of the things He told me, I was a pastor in a really small church in a small part of Texas. It seemed so insignificant, and He spoke to me out of Psalm 2. He said, “Ask me for nations.” Now, I’m just in a small town and He said, “Ask for nations.” And you know, I began to ask, it seemed impossible, it seemed like that is so beyond me, but you know God can do anything. You’re asking the God that can do anything. What’s He putting in your heart today for you to begin to seek Him for? Because, you know, if it abides in you – when His words abide in you, His heart abides in you.
That’s the most important thing, that you’re asking out of the heart of Jesus. Well, now we are in nations all over the world and we have churches all over the world and it’s not because we have all this ability. God has the ability and if you’ll ask Him He will do it.
I want to pray for you today that God is going to put things in your heart, dreams in your heart, visions in your heart you can ask Him for.
Father, thank you for these people, thank you that you love, you have a plan, that you have promises you are going to put in every heart. And when your promise comes in, Jesus, your heart’s gonna come in. And they are going to be able to ask the Father, not in their strength, they’re gonna ask the Father with the heart of Jesus. And they’ll have confidence that they receive and you hear them. In Jesus’ name. God bless you.
