Hello, I am Ryan Bruss with Revive International. I want to welcome you to God Today. Something interesting happened to me the other day. I was driving down the road and my gas gauge was almost on E. You know what that looks like. And the Holy Spirit quickened to me, as I was watching my needled go down to E, that “Many of my people [He said to me] are dangerously close to getting to E, on empty, in their lives.” Why? “Because of the intimacy that they have with me – they are running out of fumes. Doing things for God is not as nearly as important as spending time with God.
Always remember this statement I am about to say: Intimacy sustains intensity. When you are intimate with God, you can do the works of God. You don’t have to run out of fumes. What happens is, we get through life and we are rushing our kids to school, we are doing ministry, we are out there. We are living life. And next thing we know we are getting burnt out. I am feeling drained and it is like, “What is going on in my life?” In fact, in the natural, you start feeling sick. It is like, “What is going on in my life?” The Lord wants me to remind you today: “Son, daughter, you are getting too close to E. You are running too close to empty. I want to fill you. I want to refresh you. I want to bring such a joy to your life, I want to get that needle so to speak – back up to F. I want to fill you up. Let’s say F for fill. I am filling you up.”
He wants to do a work in your life. He wants to renew your life, renew your strength. Isaiah 40:31 says, “They that wait upon the Lord…” That is all you have to do. If you feel like you are on the verge of burnout, on the verge of collapse. If you have been stressed out, anxious, worried, troubled…I want you to wait on the Lord today. Wherever you can, wait on the Lord. Because the Bible says in Isaiah 40:31, “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, and they shall walk and not faint.”
I am telling you – today it is the plan of God, it is the desire of God that you wait on Him. What does that look like? Wherever you can, go into your prayer room, prayer closet, on your lunch break, in your car. Take a deep breath and say, “Lord, fill me. I have been burnt out. I have been doing ministry 24/7. I see a pastor right now. I see you with your head in your hands. You have been overworked, overburdened. Right now that is lifting over you in Jesus’ name. The Lord is filling you up. Let the oil and the wine – so to speak – pour into you as the Bible says. I feel that in my own life, even as I am sharing this with you. I am being filled up. Let Him fill you. Let Him fill you to overflowing. It is going to seep into every area of your life today.
Father, in Jesus’ name, I pray for a fresh infilling. You will be filled with the presence of God. You would be filled with His joy unspeakable and filled with glory. You would not be resting on E any longer. You would be filled with God. Filled with His presence in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
