The cross is the centerpiece for this Gospel. It is beautiful, profound, and yet simple.
Matt King

Hi, friends.  My name is Matt King I am with King Ministries, welcome to God Today.  I want to talk to you today about the indescribable power within. If you read 2 Corinthians 4, the apostle Paul is speaking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He says this Gospel is in you and it has excellence of power. Then he goes on to say it is a treasure within you. Paul describes the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a treasure with excellence of power within you.

What a remarkable thing to say.  We know the Gospel is Good News. It is the Good News that Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose again, and now has ascended to the right hand of the Father.  What a remarkable thing that Paul would say, “Hey. This is not just news. This is not just a report. This is actually a treasure inside of you. It has excellence of power.”  What a remarkable thing to say.

God, in the last 5 or so years, has really ignited my heart again for the Gospel.  I have been a Christian for – what? 17 years now, since I was 14 years old. I have been serving Jesus loving Jesus, in Church for many, many years.  In recent years, God has ignited my heart again for the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is alive today. Salvation is available for those who believe.  The cross is the centerpiece for this Gospel. It is beautiful, profound, and yet simple. As Paul says, it is a treasure within you. My heart has been ignited for this again.  Even though I have been a Christian for many, many years the simplicity of the Gospel and the indescribable power within.

Recently, some months ago, I was in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic.  My friend, Ben, and I were walking through the main square in the Czech Republic.  We were out, going to get some ice cream. We encountered a man – he actually approached us.  This man was actually handing out flyers. He approached us and handed us a flyer. I looked at the flyer and then he began to explain to me what this flyer was about.  He was actually, sadly, inviting me to a strip club that was nearby. He invited me to this strip club and encouraged me to come down here and attend this strip club. I took my eyes off the flyer and looked him in the eyes.  I said, “My friend, Jesus Christ has a better plan for you than this. Jesus Christ has a better plan for your life than what you are doing right here right now. The Cross of Jesus Christ is for you and God loves you right now – no matter what your life looks like, no matter what you are doing here and now.  No matter the conditions of your life, no matter the mistakes, no matter the guilt you may feel, Jesus Christ loves you.”

Ben and I began to share the simplicity of the Gospel with him.  We said, “Jesus Christ died on the Cross for you. He loves you. He has a plan for your life.  Do you know this?” I tell you, friends. Immediately – it was like the Gospel pierced his heart.  It was like the Gospel came into his heart and pierced him. He was clearly immediately convicted. He began to share that he wanted to get out of this hole he was in, in life.  This pit he was in, in life. We said, “Hey, listen, can we pray for you right now? And pray the Lord would touch you?” We prayed for him. Clearly, the Holy Spirit was moving in him and convicting him of the conditions of his life.  We said, “Right here and right now we can lead you in prayer and you can become a child of God right here at this moment.” We said, “Would you like to become a child of God right now? We can pray with you. He said, “Yes.”

Right in the middle of that busy square in the center of Prague, that man received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and had tears in his eyes.  He was deeply moved. We said, “Hey, listen. We believe if you follow Jesus, He can give you a new career, a new job, and we encourage you to go to church and receive a Bible.”  We prayed with him. I tell you guys, his life was changed. He walked away from that post, from that place. I don’t think he was handing out flyers any longer. That man was born again and had his life changed.

What happened?  Nothing really profound other than the simplicity of the Gospel was presented to him.  The Holy Spirit, the power of God touched his heart, came upon the Word of God, came upon the Gospel because it has excellence of power, touched his heart, changed his life, he became a child of God, was born again.  I want to encourage you and pray for you right now that you would be ignited with the Gospel of Jesus Christ – the simplicity of the Gospel.

Father, I thank you for all my friends that are watching right now.  I thank you for all my friends in many different nations that are watching.  I pray you would now ignite us all, myself included, in a greater way with the simple Gospel.  Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The power of the Good News, the treasure of the Gospel. Would you ignite our hearts, Father?  Set us on fire for this Good News that we would share it everywhere we go in the nations of the Earth. That we would make Jesus famous in the Earth.  I pray you would ignite us with this Good News and the simplicity of it. I bless everyone watching today in Jesus’ name. Amen. God bless you.
