Hello, my friends.  Blessings and peace on you this amazing Christmas.  Welcome to Third Stage Ranch in Glen Rose, Texas. I am Troy Brewer from Open Door Church and this is God Today.  I want to talk to you about the bloodline of the Lord Jesus Christ, going all the way through His mother Mary, beginning with Joseph standing in with Mary as she is the sole heir to her family bloodline.  And going back all the way back to Adam himself. That is 77 generations. I like that. You can find that in Luke 2:23.

By the way, 77 is the number of the Church.  That is just the cherry on top of what the things I want to talk to you about today.  Now, Luke was not just a disciple of Jesus. He was a physician, a historian, a believer in the early church.  He thoroughly researched Jesus by interviewing eyewitnesses. Now, most likely, Jesus’ own family. and maybe Mary herself if Mary was still alive.  Like all of us, Luke experienced Jesus and when he did he was so overwhelmed with the humanity of Christ. He is so human!

To drive this point home, Luke traces the bloodline all the way back to the very first human being. In doing this, Luke not only traces Jesus back to the original covenant, but he proves Mary was in the line of David through his son, Nathan.  Matthew 1 starts this genealogy at David and works forward to King Jesus. The book of Matthew is all about the Kingdom of Jesus. The word “kingdom” is in the book of Matthew more than anywhere else. It is the Kingdom book. He saw Jesus as a king and that’s how Matthew saw Him.

The reason I am pointing this out is that if you go to the book of Matthew and trace generations from David to Joseph, what is realized is that Joseph should have been the king of Israel.  Mary being in that line is also royal blood. Have you ever thought about that? Joseph and Mary were the legitimate kings of Israel, yet they were the poorest people in the land. Think about that.  Because the guy who was the king of Israel, Herod, he wasn’t even a Jew. He was an Edomite and that means he was the son of Esau.

That’s how messed up Israel was when Jesus showed up.  Nobody knows who the rightful king even should be. They don’t even recognize the rightful king.  Nobody knows Joseph and Mary, both royalty, some of the poorest folks anyone has ever seen. If anyone in the history of mankind has ever been ripped off, I promise you it is Mary and Joseph.

This is my point: there are people that Heaven celebrates that the world does not.  Jesus knows those people. Jesus was born through people who only Heaven celebrates. Here is what is real. You are somebody that Heaven celebrates even if the world has no idea who you are.  Heaven knows you by your name, knows you by your blood. It is so important that you and I, like Mary, line our mouths up and our minds up with what Heaven says about us – not what the world says.  That’s why Mama Mary said, “Let it be as the word of the Lord has spoken unto me,” Luke 1:38. Wow.

What has He spoken to you?  This is what His Word says. He says you are a child.  You are a joint heir with Jesus. You are a priest, you are a king, you are an overcomer.  Listen to Him and know that Heaven celebrates you this Christmas. I am going to pray over all of us.  Father, I pray, God, that we would know who you say we are. I pray, God, we would discover the you we never knew.  I pray King Jesus, Sir, that you’d make that so real to all of us this Christmas. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Friends, I want to say thank you so much for joining me here on God Today.  I am Troy Brewer. I call you the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, and highly favored of the Lord. Merry Christmas, everybody.
