Hello, I’m Andrew Wommack, and I want to share with you that finding God’s will for your life is absolutely essential. It begins with you making yourself a living sacrifice. But, in Romans 12:2, there is a second step to finding God’s will or fulfilling it in your life. That is, it says, “Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
My personal testimony is that I had an encounter with the Lord in 1968. I ran up that white flag, I made an unconditional, absolute surrender to the Lord. I was willing to do anything to let God do anything to me or with me. That was good, but I didn’t know the Word of God. I came through a religious system that taught that God is the one that puts sickness and disease and destruction and misery in your path and that’s the way He teaches you and that’s not true. That’s the way I was taught. Because I made this commitment to be a living sacrifice, I was nearly destroyed by that teaching. I won’t go through the details, but I came within an inch of being totally destroyed by the devil.
I want to say that you need to make yourself available to the Lord. You need to love the Lord, commit yourself to Him, have a relationship with the Lord that is great, but it is absolutely essential that you get the truth of God’s word and renew your mind with it. Get this religious thinking, this wrong representation of God out of you. I have seen many people, as a matter of fact, my own personal testimony – I nearly lost it. I have seen other people who loved God with all of their hearts, but because they didn’t know the truth, Satan was able to put them in bondage and keep them from experiencing God’s best.
It is just as important to get your mind renewed by the Word of God as it is to be committed to God. The only way you can do that is through the Word of God. Jesus said in John 6:63, “It is the Spirit that quickens – the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are a Spirit, and they are alive.” If you want to walk in the Spirit, you are going to have to walk in the Word. You are going to have to know the truth. Jesus said in John 8:32, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” You have to have a combination here of a commitment to the Lord, a love for the Lord, but you also have to renew your mind. That is absolutely essential.
I want to encourage you today. God has a plan for your life, you need to submit and be willing to go anywhere and do anything. That is essential. But, you also need to get in and renew your mind and begin to start receiving the truth from God’s word that is going to set you free.
