Greetings to you. I’m Dr. Bill Hamon, bishop over at Christian International Apostolic Network with 4,000 churches around the world and 1,000 in the United States.
I have written a lot of books and done a lot of teaching in the last 64 years of my ministry, and a lot of it has to do with success. One of the things I do is the “10 M’s”. And the “10 M’s” go over your marriage, your ministry, your maturity, your morality, your motive, your money, and your manners, all of that. But, I just want to show you that marriage is very important. We live in a day where there is much, much divorce. The secret is, you gotta know, that God made marriage. He understands all the processes of marriage and one of the greatest things you need to do in a marriage is to communicate with one another. Understand one another.
I’ve had to deal with so many counseling areas and people over the last 64 years (and marriages) and really the key is getting rid of self. What I find is, “I want to be right, I want to be the one that makes the decision…I, I, I, I, I.” And that was what was the fall of many in the Bible – “I, I, I”. In fact, Lucifer said, “I will ascend to the mist high” – I, I, I. And until you get rid of the “I” and there is “me and my”, and you are willing to bless others, you can’t be successful as a marriage, or as a minister, or as anything else that God wants.
You know, a lot of people say, “Well, it doesn’t make any difference how I treat my wife or children, as long as I minister to the things of God.” No, it makes a big difference. And marriage is very important to God and God wants you to have a successful marriage. I decree a successful marriage to you now in Jesus’s name. Amen.
