You’re going to go and cross rivers and lakes and climb mountains if we claim that adventure God has for us.

Hi, I’m Doug Osness and this is God Today.  Today’s passage is from Romans chapter 8, the first part of verse 15.  Looking at a life lived adventurously, on purpose. This passage is incredible.  It says, “The resurrection life you received from God [Message translation] is not a timid grave-tending life.  It is adventurously expectant.” Are you living a life on purpose, adventurously expectant today? You looking forward to what’s next?  You need to claim the adventure. This new track you’re going on.

Here’s what the definition of adventure is:  “A bold, usually risky undertaking hazardous action of uncertain outcomes.”  You might be like me. You want to know the future, you want to have control over it.  That’s not this adventurous expectant life with God. This is a journey, an adventure. You’re going to go and cross rivers and lakes and climb mountains if we claim that adventure God has for us.  So, what’s holding you back from claiming that adventure? I want to encourage you today. A prophetic act might be to make a list of all the “I Ams” of who you are. Put down who you want to be in the future.  Make sure you put “I Am” in there because that’s the name of God. “I am bold. I am risky. I am successful. I am taking my territory for the Kingdom of God.”

Let me pray for you this morning.  God, I just pray you open up the eyes of each of us today to know what the adventure of today is, the adventure that is coming.  Help us to trust you and walk more in faith by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
