When we keep our eyes on Jesus, and we put our hope in Jesus and our confidence in Jesus, we too will become more than conquerors.

Shalom, my name is Brian Sanders, a Christian filmmaker and I want to welcome you to God Today.  One of my favorite Bible characters is Gideon. Probably because He was one of those underdogs. He was known as the least in his tribe, and part of the weakest tribe in his area, in his region.  But he was also more than a conqueror.

Maybe you can relate to Gideon.  Maybe you can relate to him this very moment as we are talking.  Maybe you have been waiting for a certain job, or a certain promotion or you are feeling inadequate, or you are feeling you don’t have what it takes.  Maybe you struggle in certain areas and you can relate to Gideon that you don’t have the confidence that maybe Gideon even had. Think about the encounter that Gideon had with the angel of the Lord that visited him.  What were the first words out of the angel of the Lord’s mouth? He called him a mighty man of valor. That is how the Lord saw Gideon. Maybe you don’t see yourself that way. But, I want to encourage you today that God sees you completely perfect in Jesus.  You are a mighty man of valor, or might woman of valor.

You know, there are times we all need encouragement.  There are times we might be down in the dumps and we don’t feel adequate or good enough like the world would say.  “You need this, you need that. You just aren’t good enough. You need this for perfection.” But when we keep our eyes on Jesus, and we put our hope in Jesus and our confidence in Jesus, we too will become more than conquerors.

I want to encourage you today to put your hope in the Lord and reflect on Romans 8:37, “Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors.”  God bless you. I am Brian Sanders and this is God Today.
