You will see breakthrough if you just be persistent, consistent, and be determined of heart.

Hello, my name is Robert Gay. I am the pastor of High Praise Panama City and I am so glad you are here today.   This is God Today and I believe God has something for you today.  There is something the Lord is going to impart into your life that is going to make a difference.

I want to share some things today about breakthrough.  I know that is a word we hear very often, particularly in certain circles where we worship the Lord, we sing songs about breakthrough, we hear messages about breakthrough.  We have books entitled “Breakthrough”.  We talk about how our God is the God of the breakthrough.  Many people have an incorrect idea about breakthrough.  A lot of people think breakthrough is something that is going to happen in one given moment.  It is just going to be the result of a divine intervention that happens at one given moment.

But one of the things I have learned about breakthrough is this: breakthrough is the byproduct of persistent and consistent practice of Biblical principle.  I am going to say that again. Breakthrough is the byproduct of persistent and consistent practice of the Biblical principle.

You know, we read the story in the Bible over in Mark’s Gospel about a woman who had an issue of blood.  She was bleeding, she was hemorrhaging.  The Bible says that Jesus was passing by there and there was a great crowd that was all around Him.  A great crowd, as it says in the Bible, was thronging Him to the point where people couldn’t actually get in.  But, the Bible says this also, that this woman, in her weakened condition, pressed through the crowd.  She was determined that she was going to touch Jesus.  She had said, “If I could just touch Jesus’ clothes, if I could just touch the hem of His garment, I know I will be made whole.  I know I will be healed if I can just touch Him.”  Even in her weakened condition, she was persistent.  In her weakened condition, she was determined.  She was not going to let anybody, any situation, or any circumstance stop her from reaching in to touch Jesus.

The Bible says, “she made her way through the crowd.  As she did, when she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment, she was made whole.”  You see, we have to understand that to experience breakthrough, that means many times we are going to have to break through adverse conditions.  We are going to have to push through some things and not allow ourselves to surrender to things that would attempt to discourage us.  Things that would attempt to dishearten us.  Things that would attempt to cause us to want to throw in the towel.

Listen, I know that everybody has at one time or another has wanted to throw in the towel and quit.  Listen, you need to make a decision of heart.  I will not quit, I will not stop, I am going to keep on keeping on.  I am going to see breakthrough within my life.

Jesus told the disciples before He ascended, he said, “Tarry in Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on High.”  Tarry until.  There was a word there that is very key that we as believers need to grasp hold of.  That is the word “until”.  You need to make a decision.  I am going to keep doing what is right, until…I am not going to stop until I see the fulfillment of what God has promised, and until I see breakthrough.  You will see breakthrough if you just won’t give up.  You will see breakthrough if you just be persistent, consistent, and be determined of heart.  I am going to see the fulfillment of God’s promise.

I want to pray for you today.  Father God, I pray for those who are watching and listening.  And I pray, Father God, that you would cause encouragement of the Holy Spirit to come forth within their lives.  Lord, there would be a new determination of heart and spirit that they are going to follow you, go after you, and they are not going to quit.  They are going to keep praying until.  Lord, they are going to breakthrough in every area, and every arena of their lives.  Whether it be family, whether it be health, whether it be financial.  Whatever it might be.  I pray, Father God, you would cause a Godly determination to rise within their heart and their spirit.  I declare the release of breakthrough within their lives as they do so.  In Jesus’ name.

That is it my friend.  I want to encourage you: don’t stop, don’t quit, don’t throw in the towel.  You keep on doing what is right.  I tell you, as you do, you will see breakthrough.  Praise God.  I am Robert Gay and this is God Today.
