I am Chris Garcia with Sonship International and welcome to God Today. Galatians 5:22 says, “But the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, against such there is no law.”  In the amplified it says in verses 22 and 23, “But the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the work which His presence within accomplishes is love, joy, gladness, peace, patience, and even-temper. Forbearance, kindness, goodness, benevolence, faithfulness, gentleness, meekness, humility, self-control, self-restraint, continence.  Against such, there is no law.”

I want to tell you that the fruit of the Spirit first and foremost does not come from us.  The fruit of the Spirit is the fruit of His presence within you.  As you engage yourself with the presence of the Lord, the fruit of God’s presence inside of you: love, joy, and peace are yours.  Many people try to work on their love walk, or their joy-walk, or their patience-walk, not realizing that what they need to cultivate is the presence of the Lord inside of them.  Just as a tree does not bear fruit by itself, because of the atmosphere that is in, so we, when we are under the atmosphere of the Holy Spirit, we begin to bear fruit for Him and it is flawless.  This is part of the New Testament really.  The New Testament reality that we are called to live in

I just want to encourage you.  If you are struggling with self-control, maybe you are battling depression, maybe you are battling sickness, maybe you are battling sin in your life.  The answer is really quite simple.  Cultivate the presence of God within you.  Engage yourself with Him and you will begin to see that joy, love, and peace naturally become a part of you because you are in Him and He is in you.

Let’s pray.  Heavenly Father, I thank you right now, in the name of Jesus for your presence.  Father, I pray that your presence within us accomplishes exceedingly above whatever we can ask or think.  That your presence within us bears fruit that lasts and fruit that remains.  I thank you, Lord God, that your yoke is easy and your burden is light and we naturally walk in love, joy, and peace because of you and not of us.  We give you the praise for it. In Jesus’ name, we pray.  Amen.  I am Chris Garcia and this is God Today.
