Hey, it’s James Goll of God Encounters Ministries, sharing with you that God is today. Yes. It is not God of yesterday and we know He is the God of tomorrow. He is the God of today. In the Old Testament, the people were asking Moses a question. They said, “What is to be the outstanding characteristic of the people of God?” Is it the clothes we wear, is it the speech that we talk? Is it how we walk? Is it? Is it? I am sure all those things count and they really do matter. But, Moses’s answer to, “What is the distinguishing characteristic of the people of God,” was not what they were expecting.
In Exodus 33, this discussion is picked up. In verse 14 it says, “And He said, ‘My presence will go with you and I will give you rest.’ And then he said to them, ‘If your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.’” The outstanding characteristic of the true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, the outstanding characteristic of a person like who hungers and thirsts for the courts of the Lord. What is that outstanding characteristic? It is the X factor. It is the “it” factor. But it is not an “it” and it is not an X. It is the person.
I want to encourage you to have a passionate pursuit for the presence of God Himself. He is in us if you know the Lord Jesus. He comes upon us, and He walks along our side. The outstanding characteristic is the presence of God. I want to exhort you that you can be a carrier of His divine contagious presence. Lord, I just bless these people today. That they will go deeper, and they will go further than they ever have. I am asking, Holy Spirit, come upon them now for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen. God bless you.
