Delayed Does Not Mean Denied

Don’t be surprised if God takes you from the back and puts you back in the front. Don’t be surprised if this setback was actually a set-up for God’s very best.

Hi, I am Rob Mallan from Reliant Family Church in Tampa, Florida. Welcome to God Today. Have you ever been denied? Have you ever been delayed? Has anything ever been held back in your life? Were you ever going down a particular road or had a goal in mind and halfway through that goal you got diverted or something just did not work out?

Recently, my church went through a similar situation. It was a situation that was really going to bless my church and when the situation did not go the way I wanted it to, I actually got a little bit upset at first. And then I started praying and the Lord showed me that He takes everything the enemy means for bad and turns it for good. God never wastes anything in our lives. We are delayed in a season. We need to realize that delayed does not always mean denied. What I have found in my life and what you will find in your life, if you stick with God He will always make a way where there seems to be no way. He will always exceed our expectations.

Let me share this with you for a minute. We were going to sell our property and we were looking at a new property. We were so excited about that because we finally found the deal that was going to work for our church. We finally found the deal that was going to work for our next transition, what God had for us.

Right in the midst of this, right before it closed, things started falling apart. It seemed like the dream was slipping away. It seemed like the deal was slipping away. It seemed like, “God, did you change your mind? What happened? In the middle of this thing, we were so sure that you had a plan for us, we were so sure that this was going to work out for us! What happened God?”

Let me tell you what happened. God actually intervened. Because, see, in our church and around our church there is a lot of development going on right now. God sees the end from the beginning. He is the author and the finisher of our faith. He knows what is going to happen before it happens. He knows how to bless us better than we know how to bless us. So, watch what happens here.

We lost the deal on our property, and in the midst of me being a little upset, and me being a little frustrated, my wife said, “It is the greatest thing that could happen.” The minute my wife said it was “the greatest thing that could happen”…I thought, “It is the greatest thing that could happen.” Because we were going to leave money on the table. We were going to leave funds that would go to the Kingdom, and give it to the world. I don’t think that was God’s plan.

Watch this. As we began to see this process walkout, the scripture came to me. “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally,” this is in James…When we ask God for wisdom, He will give it to us. Do you know through this situation that seemed like the deal was falling apart, God was actually setting us up. See, when you get in a situation, where you feel like you have taken a step back, God has already got your comeback in order. He has already got things lined up.

Long story short, what seems to be a bad situation for us, actually has turned around for good. Now, what we are doing with the church is going to multiply us four, five, six, maybe even ten times as much as what we were going to get before. Now. Is that a big deal? Yes, it is. Because our God is a steward, right? Our God is a provisionary God. Watch as God blocked one deal, okay, a good deal, to bring us the God deal. God blocked one deal, a good deal. All of our friends said it was a good deal. But it wasn’t the God deal.

See, when God gets involved in your situation, the supernatural happens. He will put His hand on your natural and supernatural things happen. You might be in a pit stop right now. You might be in a delay right now. You may feel like you’ve been backed up. But let me tell you something right now. Don’t be surprised if God takes you from the back and puts you back in the front. Don’t be surprised if this setback was actually a set-up for God’s very best. I know, like you, like me, we all want to be in the middle of what God wants.

So, God, I pray today that when we are disappointed, when we have delays in their lives, when we have diversions in our lives, Lord let us be led by you, let us realize that maybe you have something better for us. Maybe there is a better plan for us. Your Word says, “I know, God knows the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and do you no harm.” So, in the midst of God diverting, in the midst of God delaying, just remember He will always make a way where there seems to be no way. When God blesses your life, it is so much better than you blessing your life.
