As long as I am open to feedback from the leadership around me and even my peers, then I know my heart is in the right place.

Hi, I’m Kristene DiMarco with Bethel Music.  Thank you for watching God Today. I get a lot of questions about, “How do you maintain humility and keep a humble heart when people are watching you?”  It used to feel so very complicated to me. Like this is the most complicated thing on Earth. I have come to realize that it is about accepting feedback and always being teachable.

One of my teachers back in the day told me, “You have to be flexible, available, and teachable for God to use you.”  As long as I am open to feedback from the leadership around me and even my peers, then I know my heart is in the right place.  Obviously, Holy Spirit helps with that too. I believe Holy Spirit really uses people in this arena more than anything. I am very thankful for the people He has put in place around me.  Make sure you surround yourself with community and people that will tell you like it is. You are going to need it. We are all called to be leaders and we are called to be significant to the moves God is doing.

Let’s pray.  God, we ask you that you would surround each and every one of us with incredible leadership and incredible feedback, God.  We commit our hearts to always remaining soft and teachable. We haven’t arrived. We haven’t arrived God. There is always something new to learn.  We thank you for your grace on the subject, God. We know that you continue to move us forward. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
