Hi, I am Bethany Hicks and I am with Prophetic Company. Welcome to God Today. I want to encourage you today out of Romans 10:17. I love this scripture. It says, “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
I was just thinking about this the other day because God doesn’t just say that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Just like your faith – the thing you put action to, the things that you believe are connected to your hearing. And so, I was realizing, “Wow! What am I listening to right now? What are the voices that I am listening to that I am choosing to put my trust in and to believe?”
Now, obviously, faith in God is what produces that Godly kind of faith. And that is the kind of faith that we want to live by. It is by hearing what God is speaking over our lives. It was hearing the voice of Jesus in our lives. But I was thinking about even when the Israelites were going to go into the Promised Land. And they sent the ten species and then the two spies. And I remember when the 10 spies came back, they started to give a bad report. Then, of course, Joshua and Caleb said, Hey! We got this! God told us that this Promised Land belongs to us. We just need to go take ownership of it.”
What happened was that that generation listened to the wrong voice. They were listening to the voices of the 10 spies that were stirring up fear and they were stirring up doubt. And they were stirring up unbelief. And as a result, Their faith turned into fear and it cost that generation an entire destiny.
What you believe about God and who He says you are will either promote you into destiny or will cause you to forfeit it. This is why it is so important to judge and pay attention to the voices that you listen to because it’s producing either faith because it is connected to God, or it is producing fear. And it will cause you to act on that.
Today, as you are going about your life, what voices are you listening to? Well you know by the fruit that is produced in your life, are you afraid? Are you fearful? Are you full of faith? Are you full of courage? Are you full of boldness?
Looking at the fruit is like the residue of what you’re listening to. It’s the voices that you are listening to. So, I want to encourage you today. Faith comes by hearing, okay? What are you listening to? It is either producing faith, either in the wrong Kingdom which is fear, or faith in God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the Word of God. God is speaking to you today.
His voice is alive right now. He is releasing His truth, His hope, and His goodness in your life. I want to bless you today. I just want to pray. Father, right now, I pray that you would open up the ears of every person listening to this today. That they would recognize your voice because you are already speaking. You are speaking to every single person that is watching this right now. Father, I pray that the awareness in their spirit, in their lives would come alive to recognize your voice and to be able to say, “Yes!” And respond to who you are. And to say, “No”, Father, to the voices that would try to cause fear, and doubt, and division. Father, I thank you that faith truly comes by hearing and this is a generation of people of faith. We are listening for your voice. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
