We know there is no cancer or poverty in Heaven, so we know that the heart of God is for those things to be redeemed, or healed, or brought back into divine order.

Hi, I am Bill Johnson from Bethel Church in Redding, California. Welcome to God Today. I believe the backbone of our commission is that prayer, we tend to call it the Lord’s prayer, it’s really a Disciples’ Prayer because in it there is a confession of sin and Jesus didn’t have any sin. But, it’s the prayer, “Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done, on earth as in Heaven. Give us this day.” And it goes on to pray about the specifics of life. But there is one phrase in there that to me is the backbone of why we are left on planet earth. And it is the cry, God Your Will be done, on earth as in Heaven.

We know there is no cancer in Heaven, we know there is no poverty in Heaven so we know that the heart of God is for those things to be redeemed, or healed, or brought back into divine order, that somehow this world would actually mirror the reality of His world, Heaven. And that is the privilege of prayer. And I think that there’s a couple of things that need to take place because of this. Number one is that we live with a burning conviction that it really is God’s Will for us to become healed, restored, redeemed all around us. There’s no poverty there, there is no dishonor there, there’s no disrespect there, there’s no cancer there. There’s no shame, there’s no sense of inadequacy there. None of those things exist there.

So when we contend for that breakthrough here we are literally asking for the King and His Kingdom to become fully manifest in how we think, in how we live. To me, this is an invitation from God to pray knowing that prayer is the backbone for bringing that reality into this one. So we do that right now. Father, I ask that You would cause it to be so deeply rooted in our hearts, this continuous passion for You to be exalted by Your Will being done here the same way as it is in Heaven. This is our cry, we set our hearts on this one thing to please You by us mirroring the reality of your world in this one. Let every area where we have authority and influence come under the influence of Your reality, Your dominion, Your world. I pray this in Jesus’ wonderful Name, Amen.
