Hi, welcome to God Today, I am Brittany Thompson. I am one of the contributors here at GOD TV and with Relentless Woman. I am so glad you are joining me today. I felt the Lord’s prompting to talk about this lie that we believe sometimes, about ourselves. That we are not important, that we were just meant to live a quiet life, or that we can’t change anything but ourselves.
All of this is rooted in the belief that we are not enough. And I, more than anybody, have struggled with this – trust me. One day when I was reading my Bible, the Lord pointed out to me, John 1:16 and says, “And from His fullness, we have all received grace upon grace.” So oftentimes we think about this in terms of giving other people grace. But we forget that we actually need to give ourselves some grace. We need to give ourselves space to grow in the Lord, and we need to give ourselves the ability to dream and move from one thing to the next in the Kingdom of God. He has so many dreams for you.
Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God, He created them. Male and female. He created them.” You have been created in the image of the perfect and almighty God. That means you are called to do awesome things. I know some days you wake up and you feel like, “How am I ever going to move past this problem that I have been struggling through for years? How am I ever going to see the fullness of what God has called me to?” I understand that because I have felt that way for many years. But the reality is that the closer we draw to the Lord, the closer we come to the dreams and the destinies that He has made for us already.
2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “And we all, with unveiled faces, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” That’s the good news! That every time we sit before the Lord, in His presence, we are being transformed. You are not unimportant, my friend. You are very important. You are not meant to live a quiet life. You are meant to live a life that boldly shares the Gospel of Jesus wherever you go. And you can change the world around you because that is who God has made you to be.
I hope this encouraged you today. I want to pray for you really quickly before we end. Jesus, thank you so much for this day. Thank you that you have designed us to be part of your Kingdom, to be part of your presence. Thank you that we don’t have to strive and we don’t have to seek after anything that’s not for us. We can simply seek your face and know we are on the right path. I pray that today will be a day of encounter like no other. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
