If I can just see You, Jesus, then I'm going to be okay. If I can just see You, then I know that You've got me.

Hi, I’m Lorisa Miller. My husband and I lead Upper Room. Welcome to God Today. I would love to encourage you today as you come before the Lord that coming to Him is simple. I think about David in Psalm 27, he says, “One thing have I desired of the Lord – that will I seek after – that I’ll dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To gaze upon His beauty and to inquire in His temple.”

You know, when David wrote that Psalm, he says that he was surrounded by an army, by enemies, and that his parents had forsaken him. What he was facing when he wrote about this one thing that he desired was so much, but somehow he was able to look at the Lord and say, “You know what? I don’t need You to rescue me out of this situation. I don’t need You to fix this for me. If I can just see You, Jesus, then I’m going to be okay. If I can just see You, then I know that You’ve got me.”

And so I want to encourage you today to not make your walk with God complicated but to keep it simple. That there’s this one thing – if you could look at Him. So whatever you’re facing, you may be facing a lot where our world is crazy right now. And so you may be facing sickness, debt, broken relationships, whatever it is, maybe your own internal world is really difficult. But if you could get to the place where you just say “This one thing, if I can see You, this one who’s perfect. This one who’s the lover of my soul. This one who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. This one who’s mighty to save. His arm is not too short. If I could just see Him, then I don’t need to worry about anything else.”

And so I want to encourage you to just come before Him and say, “You know what? There might be an army around me. There might be enemies all around me. People may be talking about me, but I just want this one thing – I want to see you, God. I want to look at You and all of life will flow from that place.”

So I would like to pray for you. Lord, I thank You for all these watching and I pray that You would give them eyes to see You, to see Your beauty, to see Your strength, to know Your love that surpasses knowledge, to see Your wisdom, to see that You’re a good, good Father. I bless all the viewers today in the name of Jesus.
