Hello, I’m Carl Wesley Anderson. I’m an itinerant evangelist and a documentary filmmaker from Born to Blaze Ministries coming to you right here in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Hello God Today audience. I’m super excited to greet you on this beautiful morning, wherever you’re watching this from. It is a beautiful morning and you know, God is today. He is speaking today. He is real today. That’s why I love these God Today encouragements.
I’m personally going to bring you encouragement about one of many different ways that you can learn to hear the voice of God. It’s looking at the Bible, which I would term the number one way of hearing God’s voice. Let me just define this for you clearly because love is speaking. So this is just very simply that understanding that you can hear God’s voice through the logos or the established body of truth in all of Scripture.
Isn’t that important to realize the Bible itself isn’t just a good book full of stories or understandings? It is truly Truth with a capital T. Let me read you this one passage here. This is from second Timothy 3:16. “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man and woman of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”
There are a couple of words in there I want to point out. Number one, the Word of God is inspired. Remember that every word of the Word is inspired, not by man, but by the Holy Spirit. This is a book that truly comes from Heaven. It’s for you and me. Yes, it was written by man and woman. Yes, it was gathered through 66 different sources, but wow, it is inspired by God. The second word on there is equipped. How many of you want to be equipped to hear the voice of God? Well, the number one way, the best way you can equip yourself is by studying the Word of God.
I want to encourage you today. Take some time out, carve out some time, perhaps later in your day or even this morning to actually get into the Bible, get into the Word, find a passage, and study it in its original context. What you’re doing is in a sense, you’re adding iron to your soul. You’re adding iron to your spirit. You’re putting Truth with a capital T inside of you and that truth, once it’s inside of you, you can hold on to it. You can claim it. You can desire it to be all that it’s meant to be to bear fruit in your life.
I want to share a quick personal story. I personally been through a very difficult battle with cancer and when I was going through that battle, when it first started, my beautiful mother-in-law who’s also an intercessor, sent me this very passage from the Bible, just as a word of encouragement. It’s from 2 Corinthians. Paul’s going through all these moments where he was asking God to take away this thorn in the flesh. Finally, it says here, My grace is enough. It’s all you need.
You know, I tell you what, I took this, I put this on the wall here of my study and I stood on that word. I went through very difficult treatments, brothers and sisters. I went through days where I wasn’t sure if I was going to even survive, but I found that the presence of God was with me. I had taken the Bible as the inspired Word of God and I learned the truth of it. I was given a Bible verse to stand on. Believe me, when times got tough and the storms of life ripped through my life, I stood upon the Word of God. Do you want to hear the voice of God? Love speaks through His established Word.
Let’s pray. Father. I bless each viewer today watching this segment. I bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Who is the abiding Word of truth in your life. I bless you today. Whatever you’re facing, the promise of God is for you, not that this presence of God will be absent, but that the presence of God will be close, will be present and His presence hovers over the Word of God in your life. So I encourage you to get in that Bible. I pray that you’ll read a passage today, that you’ll understand the context of it, and that you’ll be filled with hope as you study the Word. I bless each of you today as you study the Word and learn its context and stand on it in Jesus’ name. Amen.
