Welcome to God Today. Hi, I’m Daniel Lim, CEO of International House Of Prayer, where prayer never stops. In the gospel of John 14:14, the scripture says, “If we ask anything in the name of Jesus, He will do it.” Many of us think that it must be too good to be true. The scripture is very clear. It is literal. The scripture also says that we shall live by faith. This morning, I just want to challenge all of us as we jump-start our day and go about in our daily responsibility, relating and engaging with people around us. We shall posture ourselves as the one who will walk by faith and not by sight. Walk in this reality that if we ask anything in the name of Jesus, He will do it.

Obviously, John 14:14 is set within the context of the entire chapter of the gospel John 14. The context is this. He says, “If you love me, you will keep my word. You will abide in my word.” This is the spiritual condition of a person who postures our hearts to love Jesus wholeheartedly. Then give ourselves to keep the word of God. Keeping the word of God contains 3 simple parts: listening carefully to His word, understanding His word, and then walking out His word. As someone who postures our lives in such a manner, when we ask anything in the name of Jesus, our request is an overflow of a life of obedience. Jesus delights to answer our prayer in His perfect time. Obviously, as we move on day by day, we not only see our prayers answered in our personal lives, but we also see answers in others’ lives, and in our society, and even in nations far away.

Be of good cheer as you stand in the gap to ask anything in the name of Jesus. I am going to join you today to ask in the name of Jesus for the salvation of your loved ones around you. Lord Jesus, I pray today that you will break in and you will send your messenger. Lord, to go to those loved ones around us, our family and our friends. Cause the eyes of understanding to be open to your gospel, that they may receive you as their personal Lord and savior. Lord, we know if we ask in such a manner, you will quickly answer us. In Jesus’s name, we pray. Amen.
