When we begin to be that house of prayer for the Lord, with the temple of the Holy Spirit, love is always our foundation.

Welcome to God Today.  My name is Russell and I am with Patricia King Ministries.  My topic this week is prayer. Specifically, a house of prayer.  In the Bible, it says that we are the “temple of the Holy Spirit. We are a house of prayer.”  The Lord had shared with me many years ago, on how to build my own personal house of prayer in my own heart.  I want to help you with that today.

The first thing, the foundation of everything we do is love.  In 1 Corinthians 13, it says this, “without love we don’t have anything.  We don’t gain anything, but love is the greatest of all.” When we begin to be that house of prayer for the Lord, with the temple of the Holy Spirit, love is always our foundation.  That is the first thing. The most important thing, by the way.

The second is humility.  Humility is a covering, it is a protective place.  Jesus said, “Go into your secret place and pray and the Father will bless you openly.”  When you surrender in that place, and that place of humility, it is so beautiful. In James 4:7 it says, “Humble yourself therefore unto God.  Resist the devil and He will flee.” There is so much power and beautiful protection in humility.

The third thing I want to share with you is faith.  Faith, the Bible says in Hebrews, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for.  It is the evidence of things not seen.”

“Walk by faith and not by sight,” Paul said.  Jesus said, “Whatever you ask in my name, believe that you have received it and it is yours,”  He said. That is so powerful when you start realizing, “I am a house of prayer and I stand as the temple of the Holy Spirit.”

When we have a foundation of love, when we sit in that covering of humility, that secret place of surrender unto the Lord, and when we stand in that place of faith believing God, believing that when we pray He is going to answer.

Jesus said this, my fourth point, “The pure in heart will see God.”  When love is our highest aim and our foundation, when we step into that place of humility and surrendering, knowing God is our provider.  He is the answer to our prayer. We believe when we pray. He purifies our hearts and we will see God. We will see God. We will walk with God, He will speak to us, and guide us through our prayer times.  There are days when we all have those days when we are not hearing or seeing God. It is hard to believe and hard to surrender. Thank you, God, for your love. Go back to that place of love. Say, “God, fill me with your love.  Fill me in that place where your love is overwhelming my heart. Thank you that you have saved me, thank you that you loved me enough to die for me.” He will take you from that place. Humility and surrender will come. The faith will be there and your heart will be pure.

I wanted to encourage you today with these points and how to build yourself as a personal house of prayer.  Remember you are a temple of the Holy Spirit, and He abides in you and He is always with you. God bless you.  Remember this: God loves you with an everlasting love, He really, really does.
