We just need to ask, “God, will you give me the perspective you have?"

Hi, I’m Kristene DiMarco with Bethel Music.  Thank you for watching God Today. Sometimes it is the hardest thing in the world to trust God.  Oftentimes because we don’t see what He sees. I know for me, personally, I had a really, really hard time with worry.  Worry just consumed my life. I would almost develop stories of things that hadn’t even happened yet. I would worry about things that maybe never would take place.  I remember standing in worship one day and asking God, “God, will you please help me. Will you please just help me? I don’t want to live like this anymore.”

He spoke to my heart.  He said, “Put your worries and your wonders to rest.  I made you and I formed you from the dust. Look around and see the birds of the air.  Not one of them is concerned if they are good enough.” I think many, many times in the Bible, God spoke, “Fear not.”  He asked why we are so afraid. I think it is funny because His perspective is so much bigger. Often, we can only see to the end of our noses.  We just need to ask, “God, will you give me the perspective you have? Will you give me an eternal perspective of the way things actually are?” Sometimes you need to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Let’s pray.  God, we just ask it would be easy today and tomorrow to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.  We ask for the ability to catch those thoughts, and catch those worries and place them before you to ask if they are even valid.  We commit today to trust you before we trust anything else. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
