I believe when we say, 'Yes,' it brings acceleration in that waiting season, and to what God is doing.

Hey, welcome to God today. My name is Kate McClure, and I am a part of the God Today team. I want to talk to those of you who are walking through a waiting season, or if you have ever walked through a waiting season in your life before. And so, I want to bring up a few points. I want to bring up four points on how we walk through that waiting season. While, whether we’re waiting for a dream or a desire in our heart, or a promise from God that how we can do that, how we can partner with the Lord in it. Because I believe when we say yes, that it brings acceleration in that waiting season and to what God is doing.

So the first thing I want to talk about is, here you go, you ready? Stop putting a timeline on God. If you feel like, oh, by this time, Lord, this should have happened. Or you have your plan set. And the Lord is like, “Hey, hey, I know what I’m doing.” And I want to encourage you today. If you have that timeline in your mind, or that plan in your mind, release it, let go of it, open up your hands and trust in God’s perfect timing. He has His perfect timing for you, and you can trust that.

The second thing I want to talk about is expectation versus expectancy. And I really believe that as we’ve had expectations a lot like, Lord, this should have happened, and or this needs to this and that, and that you put these expectations on, that can sometimes set ourselves up for disappointment. But when we agree and we partner with a holy expectancy, when we partner that God is good and He has good gifts for us, and we believe in the promises of God and we will see them fulfilled in our lives, that is a holy expectancy. And so I want to encourage you to let go. Not that we’ve released, like lower our standards, that’s not what I’m saying, but the expectations that we have, let’s partner with expectancy.

The third point I want to bring up is to release any disappointments we’ve seen in that waiting season, because as we are holding onto hope and as we are holding onto the word that God has given us and to dreams, maybe sometimes you’ve seen discouragement and it not happening. And so that’s not something we want to partner with. So I want to encourage you today to release disappointment that you’ve seen in your life. It’s so important to release that disappointment.  And all you have to do is just say, “Holy Spirit, I release disappointment,” or, “Jesus, I give you my disappointments,” and there’s so much power and so much freedom in that.

And then the fourth thing that I want to talk to you about, and that is the most important if you are in a waiting season right now, is to take advantage of every single day with the Lord and to ask Him what He’s doing in this season. So instead of saying, “Lord, why am I still waiting? I’m having a hard time with patience,” whatever it is. Instead we can shift our prayers to say, “God, what are you showing me in this season?” Because yes, we’re waiting. Sometimes we can be so focused on the other side of the season that we miss what God is doing in the goodness that He has for you in that season. And if you’re having a hard time with this, I want to encourage you to read Psalm 37, specifically verses four through four through seven. It talks about committing our ways to the Lord, to delighting in Him, to trusting in Him, to be still and wait patiently. It says be still and wait patiently for Him, for the Lord. And He is in that with us.

And then the last little thing I want to ask you is somebody asked me this, and something like a dream I was waiting for. And he said, “You think you’re waiting on God, but God’s waiting on you.”  And so that’s a question I want to ask you today as you are in this waiting season, is there something that God has asked you to do, or that He’s waiting for you to actually do? So I want to bless you with that today. Lord, I just pray over all my friends who are in this season of partnering with you in the wait, Lord that you are in that process with us. Lord, I just pray acceleration of my friends right now in Jesus’ Name. And I just pray that you just show them the treasures that you have for them in this season in the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
