Hi, I’m Felipe Hasegawa with the GOD TV team. Welcome to God Today. Today, I want to talk to you a little bit about my favorite worship song. It has become my favorite worship song in the last three years. You know, we all have seasons in our lives and certain songs will speak certain messages to us, according to our need and what we’re walking through and our understanding of God. But the song that really comes to my mind is Build My Life. It’s written by five worship leaders together, but I like the Pat Barrett version.
And the part that mostly speaks to my heart is the bridge. And I’m going to read that out to you and it says, “I will build my life upon your love, it is a firm foundation. I will put my trust in you alone, and I will not be shaken, and I will build my life upon your love, it is a firm foundation. I will put my trust in you alone, and I will not be shaken.” You know, when I get to that part of the song, I begin to think about the process of buying a house. You know, I don’t know if you’ve had the opportunity to acquire real estate before. I have had. And one of the main things that people ask about to their realtors or to the inspector of that property is, “How is the foundation? How is the structure of this house?” Because if there is a fault in that foundation, you will be with a major issue on your hands if you become the owner of that property. You know, we are responsible for our lives. Of course, the Lord is our God, and we submit our lives to Him. But there is a part about us, which has responsibility to govern ourselves, to live by the fruit of the Spirit, to manifest the gift of the Spirit.
Today, I just want to encourage you to take a look on what kind of foundation you are building your life upon. Is it circumstances? Because circumstances, by name, you know, the word ‘circum’ means ‘around.’ It’s just about what’s happening around you. That’s not a foundation. Is it money? Is it finances? Those things come and go, you know, we can get rich and we can get poor. Relationships can come and go. Jobs can come and go. Is your life built upon the foundation of God’s love? And if it’s not, today I want to encourage you to do that.
Let me pray for you. Father, in the Name of Jesus, I pray for my friend right now and whatever it is, the situation they are facing in their lives, that they will learn that you are the rock on which we should stand and build our lives and build our convictions. And I bless them with your peace and love, in the Name of Jesus. God bless you today.
