Hi, I’m Russell Evans, I’m from Planet Shakers. Welcome to God Today. You know God has an amazing plan for our lives. Ephesians 3:20 says in the Amplified version, “Now to him who is able to do super-abundantly, far over and above, all you dare ask or think. Infinitely beyond your highest prayers, thoughts, or desires.” Then verse 21 gives you the reason God wants to give you abundance, “To Him be the glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus. So God’s promise is that He wants to bless you abundantly. He wants your life to be a life of overflow, and I began to think about that in my own life and I said, “God, I want to live a life of overflow. How do I live this life of overflow?” And He began to speak to me about Luke 6, where it says, “Give and it shall be given to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over will it be poured into your life.” Then He makes this amazing statement, “The measure you give, it will be measured back to you.”

So the principle in the story of abundance is this: If we want to live a life of overflow and abundance, we need to increase our measure. We need to come and say, “God, I want to have a greater breakthrough in praise in my life, so I’m going to praise more. I want to see a greater breakthrough in my finances, so I’m going to give more. I want to see a greater breakthrough in my relationships, so I’m going to encourage more.” See, if you increase your measure, what happens is that God says, “Okay, press down.” So in the story, they’d come and collect grain and they’d press it down in a bag, shake it, so there’d be more air so they could press it down, pressed down, shaken together, so they’d get more stuff in it, and running over, so it would pour into your life. So you’d have this bag in overflow, and it would be pouring out over this bag. Why? Because God wants to increase Himself in you so you can be a blessing to other people. God wants to create an overflow in your life so that other people can experience the goodness of God. And so, the principle to live in overflow is to increase your measure. In every part of your life, if you’re stagnant in any area of your life, increase your measure, increase your giving, increase your generosity, and see what God can do.

Verse 21 gives us the reason He wants to do this because it says, “to Him be the glory in the Church.” In other words, He wants to bless you so that He gets the glory. See, He doesn’t want to bless you so you can be a reservoir, He wants to bless you so you can be a river; so blessing can flow through you. Because people look at God through His people, and if they see a blessed person, a loving person, a caring person, they will say, “What is it about you?” And you say, “Well, it’s God in me, the hope of glory.” So God wants to bless you today. He wants to prosper you today, He wants to pour out His blessings on you today. One of the keys to living in overflow is to increase your measure. I’m gonna pray for you, that God speaks to you about how you can increase your measure in your life.

Father God, I thank you. You’re a God of goodness and abundance. You want to bless your children, and your blessing represents how good you are. Father, I ask that you give us the ability and understanding and revelation to increase our measure; whatever it is to see an overflow happen in our lives. In Jesus Name, Amen. I’m so glad you joined us for God Today. We’ll see you again. Russell Evans from Planet Shakers. Let’s shake the planet together!
