In any area of your life, the more you speak life the more you will see the blessing of life in your life.

Hello, my name is Diane McDaniel, Pastor of Bethel Dallas Church, welcome to God Today.  I am excited about the opportunity to talk to you about watching your mouth. There is a scripture Proverbs 18:21 that says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”  I wanted to ask you really quick – have you paid attention to what you are speaking? Have you paid attention to what you are actually saying? It is interesting how great we can be about speaking life over everybody else, but then speaking death over ourselves.  We are our worst critics, especially as women. We look in the mirror and tell ourselves, we aren’t this, and we aren’t that. We look in the mirror and tell ourselves we should be prettier; our teeth should be whiter.

At the same time, I want you to start thinking about what you can actually start speaking.  Remembering the scripture, that “death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those that love it will eat of it.”  That is another part of the scripture that is so important for you to understand. What you speak of is what you will eat of.

I am going to ask you to start taking note of what is actually coming out of your mouth.  Whether it is what you are speaking towards your husband, what you are speaking towards your wife.  What you are saying about your children, and what you are saying about your friends. In any area of your life, the more you speak life the more you will see the blessing of life in your life.

I am going to hope you are really going to pay attention.  I am going to pray for you right now that you take a few notes, that you take time to be very intentional to start paying attention to what you are speaking and what comes out of your mouth is life.  Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity that they are taking the time to pay attention to what exactly is coming out of their mouths. They would be stirred in understanding and they would be prompted when what is not of you comes out of their mouth they will correct it and start to speak the life that you have for them.  Thank you so much. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
