You're going to be able to represent the teachings of Christ by not getting offended.

Hi today, I want to encourage you with 1 Timothy 6:1. And this is a fascinating one to me. “All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered.”  And I really appreciated that one when I read it, and the Lord directed me to go to it and read it. Because I think that a first instinct when you know that Jesus lives inside of you, and that you have righteousness because He’s made you righteous, is to be able to do battle with evil and declare things right and declare things wrong.

And I think it’s a really impressive strategy that’s being presented in this verse, that it’s actually about not shaking the foundation or shaking the ability to share the Gospel. It’s like, if we just consider that which is oppressing us, that which is enslaving us as worthy, what does it say? “Consider their master’s worthy of full respect so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered.”

And so I just feel like there’s a call on this verse to pray over anybody who needs fortitude for offense, fortitude to not waiver in the Gospel and in the truth. Even though something’s coming at you, even though you’re actually right and they’re actually wrong, but to find that small passageway through where you’ll be able to share the Gospel by not being offended. That small passageway through where you’re going to be able to represent the teachings of Christ by not getting offended. So I bless you with that today in Jesus’ name.
