The Lord is here. He is loving you, and He wants to see you healed and whole.

So I want to get really real with you all about how the Lord helped me get out of depression and high anxiety. At the time I was living alone, and I had my dog, his name is Snoopy, and I was hyper depressed.  And I had extreme anxiety to the point of where I didn’t even want to get out of bed some days. When I was a child, my parents would always have Bible time in the morning. And one of the scriptures that we read most of the time was Psalm 91. And now looking back, I realize that what my parents were doing was equipping me with scripture to be able to fight these situations and these circumstances I was coming against.

And so just really briefly, Psalms 91:1, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”  When we rest and when we dwell in the presence of our Father, nothing else can stand. It’s like when you put a light bulb over something, that light is going to cast onto whatever is below it. It’s going to shine, it’s going to light it up.

When we dwell in His presence, we are heated, we’re warmed by His presence. I always joke around with my dog. He is the most loving creature you’ll ever meet. I have not met a person that he does not love. I always joke saying, “If Snoopy doesn’t love you, I can’t be your friend.”  But Snoopy was a key instrument. My dog of all things showed me that the Lord’s love, no matter how hurt I was, he always loved me. He was always there for me. He was always excited to see me wake up in the morning. He was always excited to go on those nice long walks after I got home from work. He was just excited to just sit on the couch with me and be with me.

That’s what the Lord is. He’s excited for every chance He gets to be with you. So know, if you’re struggling with depression and anxiety, know the Lord is with you. The Lord is here. He is loving you, and He wants to see you healed and whole.

So, Lord, I just pray for the people watching and I just say, depression, leave. Anxiety, leave. We don’t accept you. We don’t partner with you. Lord, you are greater than all of that. And I just pray, peace, rest, and a knowing of your love, and to every person watching this. Lord, we thank you for your mercy and your grace. We thank you for your Son, Jesus. And in His Mighty name, Amen.
