Hey, everyone. This is evangelist Chris Mikkelson. I want to welcome you to the GOD TV devotional this morning. This morning I want to talk to you about winning your lost friends and loved ones to the Lord. As we read through the scripture, there’s the story of Jesus where He saw the multitude of people and the Bible says that as He saw this multitude on one particular day, He was moved with compassion for the multitude. And I want to tell you that if we’re going to be winning the lost, the number one thing that we have to have is the compassion of God for those that are lost.
Sometimes we can look at lost people, we can see them, maybe they look different than we do, maybe they dress different than we do, maybe you’re a person that doesn’t have tattoos and you see someone with tattoos that happens to be lost, and sometimes we can look down on other people. But I want to encourage you this morning that if you are going to reach the lost, the first thing you need to have is the compassion of Jesus and compassion looks like something.
Matthew, the author of the book of Matthew saw Jesus and he writes in Matthew chapter 9, that he saw Jesus had compassion on the people. What does that look like? I would imagine maybe Jesus was crying for the people, maybe there was just something on His face and in His emotions for those lost people that moved Him with such compassion that Matthew could see it.
My friends, I want to encourage you for those of you that have lost friends and loved ones that need Jesus, have compassion on them. Go and love them, care for them, do something tangible to bring the presence of God into their life and to be able to bring the gospel into their life and so I just want to encourage you, make sure you go out, love on people, have compassion over them, buy them a cup of coffee. If it’s your waiter, give him a big tip and tell him how much Jesus loves him. But let’s have compassion for the lost and preach the gospel and see what Jesus does.
Let me just pray for you to have more compassion. Father, I just thank you for each and every person. God, I pray that you would give them the compassion of God, that you would move on their hearts so that they would be able to go out and reach the lost with the compassion and the love of God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
