I love the Book of Acts. Recently I have been reading the book of Acts and I have just been in awe of how God sustained the Church. And I love how He sustained the Church through a man named Paul who was once Saul. And I love how God brought in miracles, signs, and wonders so that people would know that He was real. If you have a Bible, open your Bible to Acts 14:3. It says, “So they remained for a long time (this is Paul and Barnabas), speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.”
So the signs and wonders were done by their hands, but it says that God granted that. And I just love how it’s so beautiful, because we’re not on our own. And Paul and Barnabas were not like the stars of the show who did all the miracles, but they were surrendered to God and they were there to show people, look, God is real and He will heal you. God is real. He will provide for you.
You know, people were healed by a cloth and a shadow. And I just want to encourage you today that God’s not done. He’s not done doing miracles, signs, and wonders. And if you are a believer, you have the blood of Jesus over you. You are saved, you are resurrected, you are full of hope. And people need the hope that you carry. And I believe that many of you, you long to see miracles in your life. You long to see miracles in the lives of others. So ask the Holy Spirit for help and say, “God, would you just grant this to me like you did to Paul and to Barnabas and the rest of the disciples?” And I believe that He will do it. He will do it through you.
I’ve seen healings happen, you know, and we don’t need to strive for those things. Jesus has already done the work, but I just think it’s so beautiful that God carried them through so much persecution, and He carried them during a time of so much unrest and they weren’t wanted in every town that they went to. The religious people didn’t want them there. They actually set up people to lie about them, and Paul was put in prison. But God always took care of him. He broke him out of prison. And I just love that so much. I love how if God wants something to happen, it’s going to happen. And I believe that God wants to heal many of you today. I believe that God wants to show Himself so faithful to those of you today who’ve never seen a miracle before.
So, Holy Spirit, I just pray for boldness to come upon my brothers and sisters today. God, I thank you that you’re not done with miracles, signs, and wonders. Lord, that you are the same yesterday, today, and forever. So, Lord, we just surrender to what you want to do, and Holy Spirit, we just ask you to just fill us and show us how to pray for people. And we declare that we are going to see miracles in our lives and the lives of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
