What is the new thing that you have grace for right now? What are the new tools that God has given you for this season that you may not be recognizing yet?

The word of encouragement that I want share with you is about stewarding your season. I know that a lot of people right now feel that in the last couple of years they’ve been going through a repositioning. They’ve been making choices that have really changed what they’ve been doing in their lives, whether it’s a move or a change in family status, change in job, change in church, any of that. You might have gone through that and now you’re going, okay, now what? I have this thing that I feel like I’m being called to, but what’s next? What do I do now in waiting for the next step? And how do I wait well?

Well, I was reminded of the story of Moses when God appears to him through a burning bush, and God says something  like, “Hey, go to the elders of your people and go to Pharaoh and say, ‘Hey, we wanna leave Egypt,'” Right? And so he gets this tremendous call when he encounters God through the burning bush, and then he has this to say to God. So he says to Him in Exodus 4, he says, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you?’  Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?”  “A staff,” He replied. The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. Then the Lord said to him, “Reach out your hand. Take it by the tail.” So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake, and it turned back into a staff in his hand. “This,” said the Lord, “is so that they may believe the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob has appeared to you.”

So I want you to ask yourself while you’re shifting into this new season, what is the new thing that you have grace for right now? What are the new tools that God has given you for this season that you may not be recognizing yet? Sometimes this actually will look different than what it’s looked like in the past. So maybe you actually have more energy than you used to. Maybe you have different resources around you that you can use to move forward in the call that is placed on your season right now. But I also want to encourage you, don’t look so much to the past. Don’t look so much to even what other people are doing around you to determine what the grace is on your life right now. I really want you to look at the Lord and really assess, okay, what do you want me to be doing right now?

The next thing I also want to mention in regards to this is, you know, Moses actually talks about his limitation in capability. He says, “I’m slow of speech,”  and then the Lord says, “Okay, well, I’m going to send Aaron to help you, and Aaron is going to be someone who will speak on your behalf,” right? And I also want you to look around in your life and say, okay, who are the Aarons that are being sent to help me in this time? Are there other people around me who can help complete the weak areas that I’m feeling like are actually obstacles where the Lord is giving you strength through other people. And so that is another way that you can steward your season.

And the last thing I want to call attention to, it’s actually in the same story, but it feels really random when you read it. So Moses goes to this encounter with the burning bush, with God as the burning bush. And, Moses goes to this encounter, and then it says that “At a lodging place on the way to Egypt, the Lord met Moses and was about to kill him, but Zipporah his wife, took a flint knife, cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’ feet with it. ‘Surely you are the bride groom of blood to me,’ She said, so the Lord let him alone.”  And at the time she said, bride groom of blood referring to circumcision. Now, this feels really random. It’s like, why are we talking about circumcision in regards to your season? Well, this was actually a sign of God’s covenant with Moses. And so, before God would allow Moses to do what He called him to do, his purity mattered.

And so, while you’re in this waiting time of stepping into a new season, I really want you to take a look at your covenant with the Lord and what your end of the deal is. What are the practical things that you need to do right now to move forward in purity before you can really step into what He’s calling you into? Because purity matters a lot to God.

So right now, I just want to bless you in your season. I want to bless you as you move forward, that you would receive the wisdom and the clarity and all the clouds of confusion, would just lift off of your mind right now and that you would see what’s in front of you. You would see the tools that He’s placed in your hand. You would see the Aarons, the people around you that are going to help you fulfill the task. And you would see the areas in your life that need repentance so that you can complete the call with a pure heart. I just bless you in that, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
