Hi there, I’m Dr. Bill Hamon, Bishop of Christian International Apostolic Network with 4,000 churches around the world and a thousand in the United States, and I’m with you here today on God Today and I want you to know God is moving in a mighty way. I was talking to about a thousand ministers the other day in another nation and I said I want to talk to you today about the highest calling in the universe, in the body of Christ. It’s not the apostle over a thousand churches, it’s not the prophet prophesying to a thousand of people, and it’s not the evangelists reaching millions. It’s not the pastor of hundreds of thousands, or the teacher who’s written 50 books and taught all over the world. And I said if you get anything between the highest calling, you’re going to get discouraged and disillusioned, because if you don’t understand God’s highest calling for every Christian, for every individual, you are going to get very discouraged with a nasty now and now. And Romans 8:29 is the highest calling. “For whom God did foreknow, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.”
God’s highest calling for each and every one of us is to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. If you made the thumb your inner eternal man that God’s working on and these are your natural family, social, business, everything, God will allow any one of these to go through a Job experience to perfect this one. It says, “Jesus learned obedience by the things which He suffered, and being made perfect, He became the manifest Son of God.”
I want you to let you know that 8:28 comes just before Romans 8:29 which says that all things work together for your good, because you love God and you’re called according to His purpose. Then verse 29 says that His purpose is to conform us to the image of Jesus Christ. Some of you have been going through some rough times, you’ve hit some real tests, and you know, what have I done? How did I fail God? Nothing’s wrong. God is bringing you forth and maturing you, transforming you and killing the old self-life, letting the Christ-life come forth.
I’ve gone through four major tests in my life, in my 64 years of ministry and I’ve zeroed out three times, but I’m coming forth victorious today because I dedicated my life to be like Jesus Christ. People ask me, “How in the world have you pioneered all these years being out on the prophetic, apostolic, third reformation?” I said, “I kept the eternal view that God is trying to conform me most of all to His image of Jesus Christ.” He made man in the beginning, to fill the earth with a race in God’s image and likeness, and Jesus is still trying to do that today and I’ve dedicated the rest of my life.
Let me tell you, I feel several of you out there right now, you’re wondering, you’re a little discouraged because you don’t understand why you’re going through what you’re going through. If you love God and you know you’re called to be conformed to His image, that’s got to work together for your good, and I want to encourage you, renew yourself. I’ve obviously zeroed out three times in my life in those days. I’ve gone through horrible tests, had to forgive a lot of people but that’s just the making of it. So, when you know all things are working together for your good to conform you to image of Jesus Christ, you can rejoice evermore, in all things give thanks.
God bless you. You’re going to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and you’ll want to hear those words, “Well done, good, Christ-like and faithful servant. You fulfilled your ministry and destiny. Enter into the joy of the Lord.” That counts more than anything else.
