Hi! I am Beverley Watkins with Global Impact Ministries.  Welcome to God Today! If you woke up in a bad mood this morning, and your day is not going well, then I am here to encourage you and to help you.  You know what? I have those days, as we all do, when you wake up and you are just feeling like, “I don’t know if I can face today.” Maybe you are overwhelmed with things, maybe you are struggling with something, maybe you are just mad at your spouse.  I don’t know what it is, but we all have those days.

When I wake up like that, I call them “my bad hair days”.  When I wake up like that, I am not really in the mood to talk to God.  I am kind of feeling all the stuff and so I think, “I am not in a good enough space to actually talk to Him right now.”  I kind of dive into my day, and you know how that goes. It just gets worse and worse and worse. One day God stopped me and He said, “Beverley, I need to tell you something.  He took me to the scripture in Hebrews 4. I am quickly going to read it to you. Hebrews 4:15, it says, “For we do not have a High Priest [that is Jesus] who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses.  But, was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Then it says this, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace.” And He stopped me there as I was reading it. He said, you know Jesus lived on Earth, He understood what it was like to face the things that we all face.  That didn’t stop Him from spending time with His Father. Then He said, “It shouldn’t stop you from spending time with me.”

He said, “Come boldly.”  You see, the throne of grace is a place before God’s throne in the realm of the Spirit.  You and I can go there any time. Any time. Not just when you feel good, not just when you are feeling spiritual, not just on a Sunday morning.  You can come there any time. It says, “Come boldly.” That phrase, “Come boldly”, it means, “run into that place.” It also means “open up your heart and be real about what you are feeling”.  You know, so often we don’t want to talk to God because maybe you are a bit angry with Him. Maybe you are frustrated with Him. Maybe you think, “I better get my act together before I say my prayers.”  No! God is not afraid of your emotions. He gave them to you. He said to me, “Beverley, come boldly. Open up your heart, tell me what you are feeling. Share it with me. In fact, get it out! Rather, get it out and give it to me!”  When we do that, when we share our frustration, emotion, whatever it is. It is like you are taking it out of you, laying it before His throne. Now you are open to receive His life, and receive His word, and receive what He has for you for the day.

You know what?  Why don’t we do that right now.  Father, wherever we are standing, sitting, driving, wherever you are right now, by faith, I step before the throne of grace.  I come boldly into that place. Jesus died for me to have a place to talk to my Father. So I open up my heart and I let go of the anger I am feeling this morning.  The frustration, all those things. I have so many things to do I don’t know how to do it. All those places where I feel like, “God, you are not listening to me.” Where I feel like, “Whoa! What am I going to do?” I take them out and I put them before your throne.  Right now, we begin to receive the life of God. Just let it flow into you. Receive His life, receive His love. He is putting His arms around you. He is empowering you for today. He is giving you the grace you need to do everything that is in your calendar for today.  Just receive it from Him right now. He is your Father. He loves you. He is the one who makes a difference in your day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
